Halloween Time!

Hi! Today I am going to tell you guys about some history about Halloween and what happened during my Halloween.

First I am going to talk about some facts that I hope will interest you.

Did you know that when people celebrated Halloween they used to carve turnips and put candles in them to scare off evil spirits! Later on they used pumpkins though.

I searched up a picture of a pumpkin and outlined on an app and made changes so it isn’t copyright.

Did you know that Hallowwen originated from a Celtic holiday of Samhain? Well it did and later on over centuries the holiday changed from a pagan ritual to a day of costumes, candy, pumpkins, and parties.

Now I am going to tell you guys who I exactly was for Halloween. Also, heads up, I wasn’t one of those scary costumes. I was like the complete opposite.

This year I was a Blue M&M and two other friends were M&Ms with me. One of my friends was a red M&M and the other was a green one.

Now I am going to say what me and my family usually do for Halloween.

Some things that me and my family usually do are putting up halloween decorations and me and my brother would wear costumes.

Now I am going to talk about my favorite candy. So this is a really hard one for me because I am very indecisive ( and I mean like I can’t even choose a single thing. When my family asks what we should eat for dinner I am like “I don’t know”.  I literally say “ I don’t know” every single time!) but some candies that I do like are Swedish fish,  tootsie rolls, starbursts etc.

I hope you enjoyed my post! Bye!

About My Trip to the Bahamas

Hi! Today I am going to tell you guys about my trip to the Bahamas. First we flew into the city, Atlantis, and it was a resort so there were restaurants inside of the hotel and there was also a waterpark with a whole bunch of slides! We stayed there for about five days and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had! The hotel even had an indoor mini aquarium! It was soooooooooooo cool!

I found this on Creative Commons and zoomed in on a part of the picture. Then I screenshot it.

One of the slides I went on was called  The Leap of Faith and it was literally like a straight drop down and into a tube with sharks outside of it! I was really really scared to do it but when I finally did it I thought it was kind of cool, although I couldn’t see that much because the ride was so fast. There were also slides that required tubes so we were sliding down some of the slides while we were sitting on a tube. There was a single tube and a double tube so sometimes I went down the slides by myself or with one of my family members.

Another thing that was really cool was that there was a lazy river and I usually think that lazy rivers are kinda boring but this one was awesome. There were these waves that would go through the river and we would flow with them. Some people even got flipped over! Another feature was the rapids, we got to bounce around and I thought it was exhilarating! There were also slides that were connected to the river so we could go down a slide and then directly flow around in the river!

Also I gotta mention the food. It was soooooooooo good! One dinner we went to a place called Chopped and it was inside of the hotel. The restaurant served Asian food and it was delicious! The yummy dumplings, noodles, everything! I loved it there and when we had to leave I was so sad but I am happy that I even got to go there.

Thank you!

Tennis Turn

Hi! Today I am going to be talking about my life in tennis. I love tennis so much! I have been playing since I was about five years old and it has about 7 years! I play at the Brier Creek Country Club and it is my goal to become an amazing tennis player. I want to be able to play in the US Open just like Serena Williams did! To be honest Serena Williams, and my parents, are the reason why I want to be an amazing tennis player! I hope you guys enjoyed my post and go tennis!

Finding Someplace Projects

Hi! Today I am going to talk about our LA Backpack Project. First I am going to go from the very beginning. During the summer the entire sixth grade was required to read a book called Finding Someplace by Denise Lewis Patrick for summer reading. The book was about a character named Teresa Arielle Boone, but she was nicknamed Reesie, whose birthday was coming up but at the same time a hurricane called Hurricane Katrina was coming her way into New Orleans. She was going to get picked up by her aunt and uncle so she packed lots of her belongings in her backpack.

In this project we would have to draw or write what we would put in our own backpack in a situation like Reesie’s.

Here is a picture of my backpack with all my stuff that I packed in it.

This was taken by me then screenshotted

Another project that we had to do was a Hero Essay. In this project we each had to think about who we thought was the hero in the book, Finding Someplace, and we had to give four reasons and examples for why we thought that person was the hero.

I thought that André, who was nicknamed Dré, was the hero in this case.

Hero is a picture of my hero essay.

This was taken and cropped by me.

I hope you enjoyed this!

About Our Trip To Camp Kirkwood

During the beginning of the school year the sixth grade went to Camp Kirkwood for about three days. The experience was an interesting one because we went during a hurricane! We went there because it was a good way for the students to connect more and create new relationships with others! Camp Kirkwood is located in Watha, North Carolina and we played in the pool, played games, V-swinged ( It is kind of like swinging ), zip lined, canoed, and so much more!  We also got to see a pig named Bubbles! Although the experience was a little rough, since there was a hurricane, it was still fun to connect with one another!

This was taken by my teacher.

This is Bubbles. Camp Kirkwood’s pig! She is so cute! Most of the people even got to pet her!
